It does what it says on the tin: a Granfondo, on Mont Ventoux. The Granfondo route is 135km, with 3300m of climbing, finishing with the “classic” climb of Mont Ventoux from Bédoin. The Mediofondo route is 80km, also finishing on Mont Ventoux, but tackling the easier climb from Sault. The race finishes at the top of Mont Ventoux, but there is a 25km ride off the mountain back to the start, so it’s a longer day than it first appears.
We can spend a few days exploring the other great cycling in this region, not least the Gorges de la Nesque, or combine with some riding on the Côte d’Azur for a cycling trip of real contrasts.
