The view from the balcony – looking East towards the cliffs of Beaulieu at Cap Roux with Cap Estel and Cap d’Ail beyond

You will stay with your host on a bed and breakfast basis in a stunning apartment overlooking the azur Mediterranean Sea in the elegant coastal town of Beaulieu-sur-mer, midway between Nice and Monaco. If numbers require, or the apartment is unavailable, there are a number of great local hotels from which to choose.

PANORAMIC SEA VIEW

The apartment is on the 5th and top floor of a building with unbeatable sea views. There is something quite special about returning from a great ride, and sitting out on the balcony with a chilled beer or glass of wine with your friends, recounting the day’s adventure whilst gazing out over the Med towards Cap Ferrat.

Fully renovated in 2011, it is over 100m2 in size. The apartment has a huge 40m2 living room / dining room with built-in kitchen. The living room offers widescreen TV and Blu-Ray/DVD player and iPod dock and sound system. The apartment is not offered on a self-catering basis, but everything required is there for teas, coffees and snacks.

The apartment has 3 bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom used by your host; you have use of the other 2 bedrooms (each with their own private balcony), and a bathroom.

  • One bedroom is a twin room (for couples, the mattresses can be zipped together to make a double)

  • The other bedroom has a bunk bed with the option of an additional guest bed: 2 guests could use either both bunks, or one bunk and the guest bed; 3 guests would use both bunks and the guest bed. Having the guest bed in the room does make it a squeeze, but it’s do-able.

The bathroom has a full-size bath with shower over, as well as toilet and double-size basin.

Please note that a railway line runs in front of the apartment, so there is noise from that. However, all the windows are double-glazed, so the noise is minimised, and the trains do not run overnight. The 2 guest bedrooms are on the other side of the apartment looking up the hillside behind Beaulieu, and the trains cannot be heard from these rooms.

The apartment has wi-fi and air-conditioning.

Bed linens and towels are provided.

Bikes are stored securely in the storeroom in the basement belonging to the apartment (you do not need to share your room with your bike!).

LOCAL HOTEL FOR EXTRA GUESTS

If numbers require or the apartment is unavailable, guests usually stay at the Hotel Comté de Nice or the Hotel Frisia. These are lovely family-run hotels, less than 2 and 4 minutes walk from the apartment respectively. Most rooms have a balcony, and all have air-conditioning, TV, safe and wi-fi.

Justin made his apartment, with all mod cons and recently renovated, feel like a home from home (though rather smarter than my home!)Matthew G
