Saturday 27 February to Saturday 5 March
Make 2016 your best season ever!
Combine steady miles with more intense climbing efforts, and create the perfect platform on which to have your best season ever, whether you are targeting the first race of the spring, or that big summer sportive or Ironman, or you simply want a week’s relaxed riding on great roads in the sunshine.
This trip is aimed at cyclists and triathletes from the average club cyclist and “weekend warrior”, to seasoned road racers.
A choice of rides each day
There will be a choice of at least two rides each day, so you can pick the ride of duration and intensity to suit you. Groups will ride together on the flatter stuff, with everyone taking the climbs at their own pace and regrouping at the top. All rides will take a proper lunch break to ensure a relaxed pace for the week.
The winter training ground chosen by Team Sky and several other pro teams, Tenerife is the perfect place to ride at altitude, and in warm sunshine:
– 7 hours sunshine per day (Feb / March)
– 20-21° average daily high (Feb/March)
– Climbs from sea level up to 2,200m
Chayofa – the perfect location
Chayofa in the south of the island is the ideal location: uninterrupted views to the Atlantic Ocean, and away from the high-rise of the Los Americanos strip. Roll out of the Country Club each day, and you are immediately on quiet, traffic-free roads.
Chayofa itself has a number of shops, as well as bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. More major facilities, including the local bike shop, are just a 5-minute drive away.
The airport is a short 15-minute transfer, whilst those wishing to spend time on the coast can take the complimentary shuttle from the Country Club (5-10 minutes).
Let Athlete Service help you get the most from your week
Laurence Plant (MChiro) is one of the partners at Athlete Service, a team combining coaching advice and performance analysis with chiropractic, physiotherapy and strength and conditioning training.

Training with power has been a game-changer, but high cost has been a hurdle. This camp offers the chance to try a power meter and establish your Functional Threshold Power (FTP).
2) Stretching classes
Stretching properly after a ride is essential to speed recovery and avoid injury. Laurence will lead classes to show how best to stretch, and apply the principles of pilates and yoga to provide the perfect training balance.
3) Position analysis
Analyse and adjust your position on the bike for gains in aerodynamics, power, and comfort.
4) On-site mechanic
For bike-tuning and simple fixes.
Extra services
