Although just across the border from France, cycling in Italy has a special vibe of its own. At 1130m, Colle Langan is the first major climb we come to in Italy.

The pretty town of Dolceacqua – turn left for canyoning…straight on for Colle Langan

We start from Ventimiglia / Ventimille, having ridden along the coast from Beaulieu and across the border at Menton (or having taken the train from Beaulieu to save our legs for the day to come!). Then it’s a long, gentle 275m climb from the coast to the town of Pigna, where the climb starts in earnest. From there, it’s a further 855m climb to the top, characterised by quiet roads and rewarding views.
